I have a featured posts slider at the top of the home page. Posts are positioned there by being given the tag “featured” I would like to be able to include events here, however the events editor does not appear to have a “tags” section. Do you think this is something that can be easily added, or perhaps it is an option but I am just not seeing it. Thank you.

You’ll be pleased to know that tags are going to be available for use with events by default in our forthcoming 3.0 release 🙂

I can’t give a firm date, but beta testing is complete and essentially we’re doing the last round of checks and updating our documentation in preparation – so I would tentatively suggest sometime within the next month.
I see that the new release allows me to tag events as “featured”, however when I tag them they are not being displayed in the featured content slider at the top of the home page. I experimented with disabling some of the other featured content, since the slider only allows for the top five to be viewed, but it still did not show up. Any suggestions?
It’s difficult to say since I don’t know how your slider works … that said, we did just uncover a minor bug with our tag implementation (our reference #22151) which is scheduled to be fixed in v3.0.3 – yet I don’t think that would cause this problem.
Have you touched base with the author of the slider? Can you ask if it integrates with other custom post types that also use the post tag taxonomy?
