Events and Calendar Do Not Display

Hi – I just installed the plugin. I read through the new user docs but can’t get the calendar to display – at all. The “…com/events” page just shows this:

“Find Events Event Views Navigation View As List Month Day Events In Search Events for February 2016 There were no results found. Calendar Month Navigation March » Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 …”

That was cut and pasted. No search bar, no ability to change the view for the user, no calendar, no events – just that. I’ve looked through the knowledge base but can’t find a solution.
