ParticipantHello,
I have an issue with EventBrite to WordPress syncing.
A colleague updated about 10 events on EventBrite yesterday. The first synced with WordPress immediately, but the others have not. I waited 24 hours to post this ticket because I read in another ticket about possible 24 hour caching with EventBrite. I’ve done the obvious, cleared browser cache, etc on the my local dev and live dev to no avail. Also tried to re-import but message displays “event already imported”.
What could be the cause? I’d rather not delete all the events and re-import especially since the first one came in fine. Also note nothing changed with the config (all plugins/theme are the same).
Thanks for your help!
Janet

ParticipantHey Janet,
Sorry to hear about these issues! We actually have several known bugs with Eventbrite that we are working hard to fix—the bugs affect event syncing and the core functionality of the plugin, so it’s a huge problem and we are trying to identify the exact source of the problem.
We have yet to do so, unfortunately. 🙁
I am sorry to bear this bad news! One thing that might help in the meantime is to share your system information. You can do so by following the steps on this page: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Sincerely,
GeorgeApril 25, 2016 at 3:43 pm #1106848April 25, 2016 at 3:58 pm #1106861George
ParticipantWe’re excited for a fix, too, and I’m so sorry for the trouble here! I appreciate your patience, and appreciate your sharing your system information too. I took a look through it and am happy to report that nothing seems outright problematic here—your plugin versions are all up-to-date, for example, which could’ve been a problem if they weren’t….
I’m sorry that there aren’t many other moves on the board at this time—I would recommend simply staying tuned to this thread, where I will post any updates as soon as I have them!
If any other questions, comments, or concerns arise in the meantime, don’t hesitate to ask. 🙂
Thank you,
GeorgeApril 28, 2016 at 5:28 pm #1108538Janet
ParticipantHi George,
I installed the Events Calendar update 4.1.3 today. I was hoping it would resolve the syncing issues with EventBrite but the content is still not coming in to WordPress. Did this update address this issue?
Also, I have another question. The events within the day in month view are not displaying in time order.
In other words, if I enter an event for 11am and then add a new event for 9am. The 11am event displays first. Any way to fix this? Many thanks!
Janet

ParticipantHi Janet,
Unfortunately the 4.1.3 update does not address the Eventbrite issues, which are still being investigated and fixed.
As for the ordering issue, can you share a link to where this is happening? Or is this only happening on your local site?

ParticipantMe again… Disregard the ordering issue. All I had to do was clear the cache to display it the correct order!
Thanks again for your time. Please keep this ticket open regarding sync issue with EventBrite.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Janet,
I’m glad to hear about the ordering issue being resolved by clearing cache. As for the EventBrite issue, I cannot thank you enough for your patience and persistence with this—we’re working hard on a fix but this has been a very odd and challenging problem to identify.
We’re working on it! Stay tuned.
I will indeed keep this thread open and will post as soon as I have more word about the EventBrite issues. If any other questions arise in the meantime, let me know. 🙂
Sincerely,
GeorgeApril 29, 2016 at 3:22 pm #1109017Janet
ParticipantGeorge… Just want to mention this as it may be helpful with debugging the sync issue.
While in the process of re-importing the events it occurred to me.
I’m pretty sure I initially imported the events that do not sync via CSV. I believe the first I may have imported with the EventBrite ID number and perhaps that is why that event updated while the others did not. I would try and replicate but I’m absolutely swamped at the moment and short on time.Maybe your team could consider this to nail down the issue.
With my best,
Janet-

ParticipantThank you for this detail, Janet. I know you mentioned being swamped, so I hate to throw more questions your way, but whenever you get around to it, can you elaborate a bit more on what you mean by the following sentence:
I’m pretty sure I initially imported the events that do not sync via CSV.
I’m just not 100% certain what you mean here, but want to be so that I can employ this feedback.
Thank you for your patience with this—we’ve been working on this issue and I was even working with a developer over the weekend, we’re having a tough time pinning down the problems but making progress.
Sincerely,
GeorgeMay 2, 2016 at 9:46 am #1109593Janet
ParticipantOf course… Anything I could do to help!
Hopefully this will clarify.
As you know there are two methods for import:
1. Via EventBrite ID on an indivdual basis.
2. Via CSV bulk importI had about 10 events total. If I remember correctly I imported the first event (the one that updated) using the EventBrite ID. The remaining events (I believe) were imported using the bulk CSV method. Snapshot attached.
My theory is possibly if you originally import events (in Bulk) via CSV, the Events subsequently changed on EventBrite do not automatically sync with WordPress.
Hope that makes sense. (When I have some time I’ll try to replicate this)

ParticipantThanks for elaborating on this, Janet. We unfortunately can confirm issues with events even if they weren’t first imported via CSV, but that could indeed be another dimension to this problem.
Stay tuned—I’m sorry for the pace of our development on this, as I noted above it’s been difficult to pin down the problem because we’re working with a third party API (Eventbrite.com) and the results are inconsistent.
We’re working on it!
