ParticipantHi Tribe support folks,
I’m hitting an issue when pushing event content to (or importing event content from) Eventbrite. It seems the organizer info stored within WordPress/TheEventsCalendar overrides and replaces the Eventbrite organizer details that normally appears in the sidebar of the event on Eventbrite. And not only does it replace the organizer’s details for the event that is linked between the two systems, it replaces the organizer details in ALL Eventbrite listings.
How do I prevent this from happening?
The events themselves work fine from both locations, it’s just the sidebar content that is the problem.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi, Jeff. Great question! 🙂
Unfortunately, there isn’t a good solution for conditionally updating certain info on the event update. Your best bet is to configure the Organizer in the Events Calendar to match up with the one you want to use in Eventbrite.
If this is something you would like to see put into the add-on in the future, we would be grateful if you would suggest it in our User Voice forum: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas We prioritize new features based on the response they receive there.
Sorry we don’t have a better workflow at the moment!

ParticipantThanks for the response Kelly.
“Your best bet is to configure the Organizer in the Events Calendar to match up with the one you want to use in Eventbrite.”
I’ve tried this by filling in content in the body field of the Organizer in Events Calendar but the only info that gets pushed through to Eventbrite is the limited content in the “Organizer Information” section.
How do I configure this to match up with what I need to use in Eventbrite?
Thanks,

ParticipantHi, Jeff. Thanks for your response.
I’ve put in a request to our dev team to see if they have a recommendation. As soon as I hear back from them, I’ll pass it along to you! 🙂

ParticipantHi, Jeff. I’ve heard back from our dev team. Thanks for your patience.
Unfortunately, this is not something that we can fix on the fly. We’ll definitely look into getting something in place in the near future, but it’s too big of a lift to make the next release that we have planned.
I’ve personally had good results with using an organizer name that is exactly as shown on one that is configured already in Eventbrite. If that isn’t working for you, I’m afraid I don’t really have a better solution than going to your EB site and changing it after updating an event in TEC. 🙁
I’m sorry that I don’t have better news for the immediate future. Rest assured that this will make it into the product before too long! 🙂

ParticipantThanks Kelly. I’m not having much luck on here am I? Looking forward to a fix for this in the future.
I do have another issue regarding the calendar, but I’ll add it to the Events Calendar Pro forum.
Cheers,

ParticipantThanks for your understanding Jeff. Of course, the other option is to just go back and change the organizer on Eventbrite after updating your event in TEC.
Thanks for your patience! 🙂

MemberHi there,
I just wanted to pop in here with a quick update. Although we were not able to get a fix for this into our imminent 3.3 release, it is still on the radar for inclusion in a future build. Thanks for your patience!
