ParticipantHi there,
I’d like to add events which run for a period of days on venue A and then move on to venue B.
– What is the most logic way to add these.
– There isn’t really a category needed, but is it wise to add a category so they can be easily filtered in a list, based on the title? (or is the title itself sufficient to filter)Thanks!

MemberHowdy @teubl and welcome back to the forums. π
Good question. I’m afraid that transferring an event from one venue to another mid-stream isn’t something the plugin currently supports. Instead, you would need to list Venue A and then edit the event later to Venue B.
Or, similarly, events can contain multiple venues. You could list both venues and describe the transition in the body content.

I am definitely a fan of categories. If you find that you host many types of events and they are different in nature, then categories can come in super handy–just like you said–when filtering the calendar. We also have a Filter Bar add-on where filtering between categories becomes infinitely easier.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks for the reply,
Would there be anything against to duplicate the event?
If so there is no way to merge the events, eventhough it’s recurring. Instead they will always be shown as different events, right?Cheers

MemberSure, you can definitely duplicate individual events or create a recurring event. Do note that editing an event within a recurring series will break that event out of the series and make it its own event.
And, yes, the events will always show as separate on the calendar, even if they are part of the same recurring series.
Cheers!

ParticipantMmz, i understand. Although ex. it’s like a recurring event that have different starting time throughout the week.
Would this be something that is customizable?
Either way i’d like to suggest that as feature π
Cheers!

MemberYou could create a custom pattern for recurring events and have each event start and different times — I will note, though, that there might be a lot of rules in that pattern once it’s fully set up.
Is that what you’re looking for? If you are looking for something else and would like to suggest a feature, we do have a feature request forum and would love for you to submit an idea.
Cheers!

ParticipantYup, it would be cool if we can have a custom pattern for venues also (like there is for day and time). I posted it as feature request.
Thanks again!
