Event Where Users Choose Between Multiple Workshops or Subevents

Hello MT Support Folks:

Some of the events that we deal with have multiple workshops for class segments that users must choose from. For example, say a user says they want to take a course and the classes are spread out over several months, and they must choose which dates suit them best. Or a user signs up for a conference and must choose different workshops they plan to attend (say 4 out of 10 different workshops). So a participant must: Choose event>select which workshops they attend>register and pay. Basically, looking for a way to incorporate “subevents” to the main event. I have to believe it is being done and that I am just missing something.

Currently the best way to implement something like this is with dropdown, multi-select, radio selection, or checkboxes using Additional Fields. You can learn more about how to implement additional fields on events via this knowledgebase article here.

Hey Shelby:

That is an excellent idea. I was thinking more along the lines of having subevents/tickets, but this is more in line with what we could use. Just telling the user to buy the event (which would also be the date of the first class), then choose dates of subsequent classes using drop down menus. Nice.
