Event venue – Ability to enter GPS coordinates

Hey,

I am wondering if the ability to enter GPS coordinates is on the horizon for the pro version of the plugin?

Its a major oversight to not have this option; a lot of venues I use (and I am sure a lot of other customers as well) are fairly obscure and not picked up by simply entering in a text address. You need to enter the exact GPS coordinates to get an accurate location.

There was a free plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-rocket/. That used to allow me to enter the GPS coordinates, but it stopped working for me after the recent updates to WordPress and the events calendar and does not appear to be in active development.

Can we expect this option soon?

What issues are you having with Event Rocket? I used it just last week to place a Venue in Antarctica and it worked for me.

Right now that is the only method we have to add coordinates to a venue. I do not have a timelime as to when that could become apart of the Pro Plugin itself. It is something we are interested in doing though.

I just tried using Event Rocket again and it seems to be working ok now. My guess is that it was some conflict with a previous version of my theme. Hopefully it doesn’t arise again.

I honestly think this should be a core feature of the pro plugin. I surely cannot be the only one who regularly uses fairly obscure venues that need the GPS coordinates imputed for an accurate location?

Shouldn’t need to rely upon an external plugin not directly affiliated with Tribe events for this to work – especially considering it is not updated that often.

I am glad the Event Rocket is working and it is worked on by developers of the Events Calendar so if there is an issue please let them know through the WordPress page as they would like to take care of it.

Adding coordinates is a requested feature and we are working to add it. That is about all the information I have about it right now. I am going to close this ticket as there is nothing more we can do about it right now.
