ParticipantHello,
We wanted to report a bug in the Eventbrite Tickets plugin. We’ve observed a discrepancy between the Eventbrite event itself and the WordPress event (once the Evenbrite event has been imported). How to reproduce:
Steps:
– Create an event in Eventbrite who’s time extends from X AM to Y PM (e.g.: 10 AM – 12:30 PM)
– Import event in WordPressObserved:
– The event start and times in WordPress get reset to a default value of 10 AM as opposed to applying the previously-set (through Eventbrite) start and end timesNote:
– If an event runs from X AM to Y AM or (e.g: 10 AM – 11 AM) or X PM to Y PM (e.g. 12:30 PM – 3 PM), the imported event time in WordPress is correct.December 16, 2013 at 6:18 am #81865Kelly
ParticipantHi, wallacks. Great question!
That does sound odd, indeed. Would you mind reiterating your message above, because I don’t see a time change listed, but I believe that you’re intending to show that WP/TEC is changing the time listed on the event.
A couple of questions: Which versions of WP and TEC/Eventbrite Tickets are you running? Have you had a chance to try this with a default WP theme and all other plugins deactivated? If so, what were the results?
Thanks! 🙂

ParticipantWe just tried again with an event that runs from 10 AM til 4 PM and the result was okay. We can tell you that importing an event that runs from 11 AM to 12:30 PM yields the above-mentioned odd results.
We are running WordPress 3.7 and the plugin version is 3.2.1
We are running this all on a live site. It would take some time to test results in a test environment (different theme and plugin settings). We will leave you with this information in hand and hope that you’re able to replicate the bug on your end.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi, wallacks. Thanks for the further explanation.
If you can give me the Eventbrite ID for the event I can give it a shot, but without knowing if the issue is still extent with a known set of parameters (2012 theme and only TEC and EBTickets activated), it will be difficult for us to replicate.
One thing to check, the Eventbrite API can be fussy about named time zones in your WP settings. You might try changing to a UTC+/-# and seeing if that changes anything.
Thanks!

ParticipantHere is a sample event number from Eventbrite: 9874310328
2 issues with importing this ticket/event into WordPress:
1) The time in WordPress gets reset…
Observed: start time = 10 AM, end time = 10 AM
What it should be: start time = 10 AM, end time = 12:30 PM2) For this event, I used a past (existing) venue (let’s call it “Venue A”). It seems like upon saving an event who’s time extends from AM into PM, a new venue is created. In the past venue list, one can observe, in the drop-down:
Venue A
Venue AIt seems strange, but more “Venue A” get added upon creating an event who’s time extends from AM to PM.
Hope this helps,
Chantale

ParticipantHi, Chantale. Thanks for the Eventbrite ID. That’s very helpful. In fact, I think that may have gotten us to the root of the issue! 🙂
I tried to import the event and then go to the URL that would normally be associated with that event: http://www.eventbrite.com/edit?eid=9874310328&ref=etckt but it doesn’t resolve. I’m wondering if perhaps you have your events hosted on Eventbrite under a TLD other than .com.
If that’s the case, please try using this tutorial to accommodate the change: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation-eventbrite-tickets/configuring-the-eventbrite-tickets-add-on-to-use-eventbrite-co-uk/ I’m hoping that will resolve all of the mysterious behaviors. 🙂
