Event tag archive page is using the page template of our blog pages

Hi,

When we are viewing an event page and click on a tag link, we are taken to our blog posts archive page (filtered by that tag).

Why doesn’t the tag link inside the event link to a tag archive page within the Events Calendar hierarchy? It gives a link back to our news… /news/tag/test-tag/

The event category link inside the event acts as expected though… giving a link such as /events/category/test-category/

Do you have an idea of what may be causing this? Thanks!

Thanks so much for reaching out!

You are correct, this is expected behavior with the way that things are set up.

This is because Event Categories is a custom taxonomy (and therefore we provide a view for it), but the Tags you can assign to Events are shared across both Posts (regular blog posts) and Events (the tribe_events custom post type).

Therefore, whatever your active theme or child theme uses for its tag.php template file is what will be used.

But, as an alternative, I would recommend trying to change the setting under Events -> Settings -> Display (specifically the Events template setting)
