GuestHi there,
I’m a wordpress developer, not particularly experienced with WooCommerce but I have a client who is looking for a complete solution for an upcoming event. I found Events Calendar Pro and WooCommerce Tickets on your site which look good but I would like to find out whether they can be moulded to my clients specific requirements.
We obviously need the ability to sell tickets to the event and I’m confident having watched the videos that WooCommerce Tickets can do this, but in addition we need to sell exhibitor space and sponsorship packages for the event.
With exhibitor space, I am considering a few different options – maybe there are 2 or 3 stand sizes and exhibitors just purchase the size they require. The only downside is that they wouldn’t get to choose which stand they got or negotiate the price. Either way, is this something that Event Calendar Pro could support?
Sponsorship would probably work in a similar way, a company would choose from a selection of sponsorship packages for the Event, lets call the Gold, Silver and Bronze for now. Each package would describe what the benefits of the sponsorship package are and provide the ability to purchase it. Again, is this something that could be achieved using Event Calendar Pro?
Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can offer.
Best

ParticipantHi Kevin,
Your situation sounds very familiar to me, and I think WooCommerce Tickets could do the job. The add-on treats “tickets” as WooCommerce products, so you can set prices and call them whatever you’d like. I’m imagining that the ticket sales might be on one page, the sponsorship packages on another, and the exhibitor space on another to help eliminate confusion. You are correct that there currently isn’t a way for them to specify an exhibitor space or negotiate a price. But you could offer windows of discounts as a possible option. I’m thinking that if you creatively combined the ticketing function with some categories/pages you’d be able to accomplish what you’re looking for.
Have you checked out the Themer’s Guide yet? Or the WooCommerce Tickets documentation? That might give you a better feel for the type of project it might be. And I should also mention our Filters Bar add-on that is currently in beta. It might be a way for you to separate the public/exhibitor/sponsor information.
Does that help? Do you have any additional questions?

GuestHi Julie,
Thanks for your response. I guess really I just need to understand the relationship between Events and Tickets – am I correct in thinking that Events Calendar Pro is a pre-requisite? The website we intend to build is a platform which could have 2 or 3 events so we’d need the ability to sell tickets, exhibitor space, sponsorship and maybe merchandise for each individual event. I haven’t seen the Themers Guide yet, what’s the link for that and I’ll be sure to check it out.
Thanks again

ParticipantHi Kevin,
I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. Events Calendar PRO is NOT required for WooCommerce Tickets. It works just fine with The Events Calendar (free) plugin. And I’m not sure what happened to the links I intended to include, but you can find our Themer’s Guide here https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/. And the info on our upcoming Filters Bar can be seen here https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-events-filter-bar/ with a quick preview here https://theeventscalendar.com/filter-bar-a-video-preview/.
Let me also point you to our demo site for the WooCommerce Tickets and you can have a look at that as well. http://wpshindig.com/event/the-events-calendar-wootickets-wordpress-demo/
I’ll let you take a look at those and then let me know what questions you still have.
