ParticipantI’m using the 2013 theme on a fresh WordPress install. When using the “Include events in main blog loop” feature all event posts appear before regular posts in the blog loop. Regular posts are pushed to the bottom of the blog loop. It seems that event posts have chronological precedence over regular posts.
My expectation was for event posts to be included in the blog bloop but be commingled with regular posts. And not all event posts appearing first, then regular posts.
This is a problem because content, even new content, is pushed to the bottom which makes it hard to find and seem dated.

MemberThe ldeavila,
I think this was actually changed recently as previously events and posts were both sorted by post date. The problem there, of course, is that an event might be scheduled well in advance but then disappear down the river of blog posts, which other users weren’t happy with.
So it’s a difficult thing to get “right” – simply because different users have different needs and expectations.

ParticipantHi Barry. Sure. I can understand what your saying. Is there some code I can modify so that events and posts are sorted by post date. For us I think this would be ok since we feature the events calendar prominently on the sidebar.
It would also be a good feature to have… enable sorting based on post date not event date.
Many Thanks

MemberHi ldeavila,
Can you try adding this snippet fresh from our developer Jessica to your theme’s functions.php file (noting you can probably omit the opening <?php tag)?
Let me know if that helps!
