ParticipantHello,
I am a web developer who has a client that relies heavily on ECP. Their moving into their busy season and will potentially have 1000+ events (single & reoccurring). They have expressed their frustration with having to update events in a series because of how many are populated. I’ve tried to find a solution how they could organize their events better than the traditional wordpress admin page. This client is also going to develop two more sites which will utilize ECP. Is there a development plan to improve events organization/display in the future? It would be nice to tell them to be hopeful.
Thanks!

MemberHi, David/Sam.
Thanks for the candid message and for using our products. We’re constantly working to improve existing functionality (e.g. fix bugs) and add new features.
We definitely have room to improve our performance (both speed and usability) but I’m unsure what exactly you’re referring to when you say, “…having to update events in a series because of how many are populated.”
Are you talking about the number of events in the future to create for recurrence series — the “Create recurring events in advance for 24 months” setting?

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thanks for reaching back out. I’m referring to how the event posts are displayed within the admin page. My client has daily events from May until September. It’s almost 150 individual posts shown for this series. There can up 3-5 different series with similar times. We’re looking at 500+ series and single events. It has become difficult to find the particular post when they need to edit it. I’m reaching out to find a way better organize this for them.

I have found this possible solution and directed my client to utilize the WordPress admin bar when logged in and visiting a particular event details page, but unfortunately it doesn’t not present the option to edit the event out of the series, or edit upcoming future events. It only allows to edit the series as a whole.
I did clarify it better for you? Please let me know if you have any questions.

MemberI better understand but am not 100% certain.
Advanced Post Manager (APM) might be useful in some ways, but the snippet from that KB article is all we have at this time to extend existing functionality in this regard.
You might also reference https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-recurring-events/#breaking-off-events if you’re breaking events from a recurrence series.
If there’s something major I’m still missing, let me know and I’ll get another person to look over this with me.

ParticipantThanks Cliff,
It’s not an issue with the plugin, just the reality of how wordpress posts are displayed. When there is over 200+ events in a series named “Lap Swim”, it can get cumbersome to find the correct individual event you might need to edit (I’m speaking from the clients perspective here). I’m hoping that the way events are displayed in the wordpress admin is on your radar for improvement. I’d love to tell my client that it will be easier to manage in the future.
I’ll take a look at advance post manager as it might resolve my client issues in the interim. Thanks for your help.
