Event List widget not showing day icons

1) I want to put the Events List on the home page, but when I went to do that, the icons disappeared. They come back for that widget only when I add the Calendar widget, too (which I don’t want).

Here is an example of what is happening… see below link.

2) I want to add the Calendar widget to the full Events page. Is that possible? I’m thinking it’s not.

Sorry for the troubles with the list Widget. We have a fix for the issue. Please add this snippet to your theme’s function.php

We are working on a release to fix the issue in a week or two, but that resolves it right now.

I am not quite sure what you mean. Do you want to have a widget area on the main events view and place the mini calendar there? That is possible, but it depends on what event template you use and your theme.

Let me know if you have any more information on the 2nd point and if that snippet fixes the first issue.

Hi Brian, thank you for your responses.

1) Unfortunately, the snippet did not resolve the issue. Do you know when the update will be released?
2) You have that right… add a calendar widget to the page that is automatically created by you guys: http://domain/events. It does not present as a regular WordPress page (I can’t change the template for it, etc), so I don’t know how to set it so it will allow for a widget in the sidebar

Looks like your site is cached with W3 and the cache is before your posts this morning so the change might not be showing.

Can you please try clearing the cache of your site with the snippet in place and see if that helps.

The snippet is the same method that the update will have so I believe we should try to get it to work.

Main Event View
As for editing the Event View.

If changing to the Default Page Template from this setting:

Events > Settings > Display Tab > Events template

Does not enable you to have a sidebar from your theme.

Then the other option is to follow our Themer’s guide:

That will show you how to move and edit the templates to make this happen in your theme.

We can help answer questions about this, but for the most part theme compatibility and customization is beyond the support we can provide.
