Event Grid Title Displaying Name of First Event

Hi, I have read through the FAQ piece on this but am still not sure what I need to do. My events page title is appearing as the title of my first event. I would like A generic name like “calendar of events” for this page. Please help 🙂

Hi Whitney,

The only solution is to follow the instructions in the FAQ. Please read it again and try it out or perhaps hire someone to help you with it if you can’t understand.

Guys, the FAQ is written in such a way that only a coder can understand what they are telling people to do, with NO examples. At least give us a few examples of what we may see when we find the_title(), and what it would look like after we add the conditions, showing where they might be added, etc. What seems so EASY to you guys could be easy for us, too, if you’d explain it a little better. Instead I’m told to spend more money just to get a page title to work with the plugin? I am just disappointed…is it really that hard to give us a recipe (as in look for something like this, replace it with THIS…or where you see THIS, add this right under it…or whatever) but your FAQ doesn’t do it that way, it just says “use these conditionals.” Leaving us non coders stuck googling “how to add conditionals to a function.” Come on. If this happens that often that you have to write an FAQ, help people out just a bit more, please?

Sorry you’ve had so much trouble with the FAQ. We’re definitely looking for ways to improve the wording and code samples of all documentation and FAQ’s and will be working on overhauling much of this for our upcoming 3.0 release. In the mean time; I’ve updated the FAQ in question (https://theeventscalendar.com/faq/the-calendar-page-title-shows-title-of-an-event/) to hopefully provide a few better and clearer examples. Unfortunately it is kind of a complex topic though and we can only do so much to help people with this.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or need any other help with it.
