Event & Donation Tracking

Hi Tribe,
I am looking for a plugin that will work with woocommerce that will track rsvp’s for an event & accept + track donations. Could I use any of your products or combination of products to achieve my goal?

A little background… I am looking to set up a Parties with a Purpose, where we encourage kids to give up their presents and give to a charity instead. Moms will purchase the invitation on my site and then I would create their birthday event. Friends & family can go to special event url where they can rsvp and send their donation. Make sense???

What Modern Tribe products do I need?

Hi Jennifer,

What an awesome idea!

I think you’d be able to do what you are looking for with our free The Events Calendar plugin and our WooCommerce Tickets add-on. The trickiest part is going to be the donations. If they are a fixed amount you could simply set them as a “ticket price” and each event could have a variety of ticket prices. If they are “give what you want” that would not be possible at the current time without some pretty significant customization.

Me again!
I installed the free events calendar plugin & purchased the woocommerce tickets plugin. I have a couple questions for you.
1) How do I set up my event so that guests can rsvp?
2) Is it possible to customize the title in the ticketing box at the top so instead of ‘tickets’ it says ‘donations’ or something else?
3) Is it possible to customize the ‘comments’ box and change the wording from ‘leave a reply’??

Hi, Jennifer. First, thanks so much for being an Events Calendar user. We’re very happy to welcome you to the community.

1. As far as RSVPing goes, right now TEC doesn’t offer a true RSVP solution. Probably the easiest way for you to do that would be to set up a free ticket that people can “purchase” to confirm their attendance.

2. Please check out the Themer’s Guide that Julie linked you to for instructions on how to customize your tickets window.

3. The “Comments” section is part of your theme, rather than TEC. Our events pages are just custom post types, so our info is being pulled into your theme’s pages. Please get in touch with your theme developer for instructions on how to change that. If they have any specific questions, we’re happy to answer them.
