Event does not show on the day ot the event

An event taking place today does not show. I have to set the end date to the following day to force it to show.

Hi mickdaly – do you mean it doesn’t show in a particular view? Can you see the event if you visit the actual single event URL (if so can you share it with us)?

I do appreciate you taking the time to deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default, unmodified theme, too. Did that impact on the problem at all?

It doesn’t show in the full event list or in the category list.

Note I had to set the end date to 24 hours later so it would show up today.
I did deactive all plugins and changed to 2012 .. still the same problem.

OK, of course that event is now in the past so it’s difficult to assess this (unless perhaps you could create a new test event?) – but can you confirm your WP and PHP date time settings are all in order. One other though, though it shouldn’t impact, is that you are using default or “ugly” permalinks.

In the past this has been known to trigger a range of issues – just to be safe would it be possible for you to switch to “pretty” permalinks?

… and it showed up!

That problem was fixed, BUT I had to go back to default permalinks because I lost the menu from all sub-pages. These were set to display just the events for a specific city, ie. event category, such as http://teamjp.net/jpteamarizona/?tribe_events_cat=phoenix
Not sure how to correct this after a change to ‘pretty’ permalinks!?

So is the problem basically a matter of knowing the URL pattern to use (when you are using pretty permalinks)? If so then it should be a fairly easy fix – you would convert something like:

teamjp.net/jpteamarizona/?tribe_events_cat=phoenix

To:

teamjp.net/jpteamarizona/events/category/phoenix/

Does that help at all?

Ok, I changed the permalinks … and changed one page from category to custom and used the new url. The link worked, but the menu has disappeared: http://teamjp.net/jpteamarizona/nomenu.jpg

Btw, the menu is there on the home page, but not any of the other pages.

Unfortunately it’s very difficult to provide further assistance on this one without directly working with and inspecting your site which, regrettably, is generally beyond the level of support we can provide. It does sound like something rather atypical is happening with your menu – and I suspect the answer may lie somewhere in your theme code (or within whatever piece of code is generating it).
