Hi,
I was using the event default page as my homepage. However, it was causing conflict with the blog page since both the homepage and the blog page rendered the calendar view. I decided to use the shortcode option instead to render the calendar view for the homepage. This resolved the homepage and blog conflict. Nonetheless, I am now unable to view the filter bar. How can I display the filter bar on the homepage using the shortcode [tribe_events] method?
Thanks

Unfortunately, the filter bar only works on the default events page. You can modify the slug to something other than /events (Events ยป General ยป Events URL slug). However, filter bar will be tied to whatever you specify there.
I think you’d still do well to set up a home page separately from a blog page. Follow these steps to specify the default events page as your home page: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-make-your-calendar-your-sites-home-page/#reading-settings.
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-a-separate-page-for-blog-posts-in-wordpress/ can walk you through creating a separate blog page.
Does this resolve the issue for you Tasha?
Thanks

I have already tried your suggestions. The event homepage url is spowwow.com/whats-happening and the blog page is spowwow.com/blog. I have tried changing the Events URL slug also from events to whats-happening (with and without the shortcode) but that does not work either. How can I get the filter bar to work without the Homepage and Blog conflict?

Can you try using a redirect plugin to achieve this? https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/ worked for me. I set the local dev site link to redirect to /events and was able to see Filter bar displaying that way.
Let me know if this works for you.
Thanks
