Event cost defaulting to "Free"

I have downloaded the suggested extension (https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/display-the-event-cost-field-when-ticket-plugins-are-installed/) and my website is still defaulting to “free” but now it is displaying “Free – $5000”. The $5000 is the cost of the event. The way this is defaulting it appears to read as “Free to $5000”. I believe that what is going on is that the “free” part is generated by the fact that there are several tickets at stake.

You could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/a63180206b4ebb3a1f30511228816652

I believe this should solve your issue.
