Event Calendar Showing Up Instead of Blog

I am trying to integrate a blog into my website, where the Events Calendar is on the home page. I have the reading setting in WordPress set to Front Page Displays –> A Static Page –> Front Page: Main Events Page, Posts Page: -Select-

The Events Calendar is taking over my blog. If I change it to Posts Page: Blog, the Blog page shows the event calendar. If I change it to Front Page: Events, Posts Page: Blog, all of the events show as though they are blog posts.

How can I get my event calendar on my home page and have a blog page too?

You can use shortcodes to embed full calendar views in places other than the main calendar page.
