ParticipantFirst the issue was getting a WordPress account, which I did. Then it was selecting the right theme, which I did also. But I still cannot install Event Calendar Pro — even though I have a license key! Can someone please check my WordPress site at http://coolpac.us/wordpress and tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

ParticipantHey Earl,
Sorry you’re having trouble here.
If you have not already, what I’d recommend doing is to first check out the “Installing Plugins” section of this page on the WordPress codex → http://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins
Follow those exact steps first for the core version of the The Events Calendar → https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/
Then, once that is installed and activated, repeat the steps for the PRO add-on you have.
If you do these exact steps, what do you find?
Thanks,

ParticipantHey Earl,
I’m sorry about your troubles here, and appreciate you clarifying them.
Nobody here can manually do the installations for you, but I’m curious – if you already paid $65 for a license, then you should indeed have a valid license key and the ability to download a copy of the plugin files.
If you go to https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/, do you find a download link for the copy of The Events Calendar PRO that you previously purchased? If so, download it and install it on your site.
Then, head to https://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys/ and copy the license key directly from that page.
Head back to your site and use that license key in the options panel.
If you cannot access either of these pages, please email [email protected] with both a copy of your original email purchase receipt, and a link back to this support ticket. We can help further from there.
Thank you!

ParticipantHey Earl,
If you’re downloading the files but they keep getting extracted, that is definitely a problem. Are you using the Safari browser when you do this? If so, that unfortunately automatically un-zips .zip files, a very annoying thing for WordPress users everywhere 🙂
I’d recommend either trying a different web browser, just to download those files, or disabling this auto-unzipping feature in Safari (you can learn how here → http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/961/how-to-stop-safari-from-unzipping-files-after-download)
If you get that working, see if anything improves! Let us know.

ParticipantMy installation issue has been resolved — turns out that my Safari browser was unpacking my .zip files when it shouldn’t.
Now the problem is I can’t add pages to the site — at least, that is, the pages are being added but not visible. Each of the added pages to the “Home” page–there are four of them–show a 404 error message: “Object not found!” and directs me to return to the “referring” page.
Can anyone help with this?

ParticipantHey Earl,
Do these issues only happen if The Events Calendar is active?

ParticipantAs I explained to Rob, this issue was caused by a problem with permalink, which my hosting company solved. Thank you for your attention to this matter. It appears that all of my issues have been solved.

ParticipantThanks for the update Earl, best of luck with your site!
