    Hello,
I am using the plugin made by a company called “FishPig”. The free plugin allows me to easily integrate my Magento site with my WordPress site. It integrates your WordPress blogposts and pages into the Magento framework very easily.

The only issue I’m noticing is that my ECP sections aren’t working. When I contacted FishPig they pointed out that the event calendar plugin is not supported by the extension at this time. I am reaching out to both ends to try and figure out why this is? Maybe come up with some solution.
You can check out the plugin here: http://fishpig.co.uk/wordpress-integration.html

    Thanks for your time!

    Hi Christina,

I have never heard of that plugin before but, sadly, some plugins do have irreconcilable conflicts.

Can you provide any more information (and even a URL for me to view the problem)? Are you unable to view any event content whatsoever, or are some things like single events pages and/or event widgets visible and functional?

    Hey Barry,
Thanks for taking the time to review my questions.

So I have my Magento site installed here: http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/
and my WordPress site is installed here: http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/wp

However the plugin requires me to set up different URLS for the WordPress address and the Site address. Which is where I believe the problems start to come into play.

    WordPress Address (URL) http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/wp
    Site Address (URL) http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/blog

The calendar should be showing up here http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/blog/events/ however it is just display the placeholder text I have on the page oppose to the calendar.

    OK, so this text:

    Hello This is a test!

Does that live in a page called Events? If so, you will probably need to delete that page, otherwise The Events Calendar will allow that to be displayed in preference to the virtual page it generates.

Yes it does live on the events page. If I delete the page and then go to http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/blog/events/ or http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/wp/events/ it just tells me that the page is not found. I think it has something to do with the fact that I have my WordPress Address and Site Address as two different URLS. Because if I keep the events page and then change the Site Address to http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/wp the calendar shows up. I have temporarily deleted the event page.

Could be you just need to flush the rewrite rules: can you set the site/WP URLs up as you wish, then visit Settings > Permalinks (you don’t need to make any changes/hit the save button, just visiting that page should force a flush of rewrite rules).

    Hi Barry,
I went ahead and visited the “settings >Permalinks” and still am not noticing any changes. Am I missing a step here?

No, it’s probably just that that isn’t the problem 🙂 Did you restore your events page? I’m still seeing the Hello This is a test! message when I visit this page.

The other thing I notice (on that same page) is that it seems to be generated by Magento, rather than WordPress, so you’d need to resolve that – basically allow WordPress to serve up those pages – in the first instance.

I think we posted at the same time there.

I did notice this in the Permalinks section http://www.thinkative.com/dev/wish/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Screen-Shot-2013-02-13-at-2.47.18-PM.png

Yep so that’s something you’d need to resolve … also – because this is a slightly unusual setup with two side by side apps – you may wish to ensure that you don’t have a second .htaccess file further up the hierarchy (for Magento’s purposes) that is overriding the second, WordPress specific set of rules.
