ParticipantHi there,
I’ve had major issues with the event calendar pro plugin. The events calendar page doens’t work http://www.victorianguildofchinapainters.org.au/events/
But the individual event pages work. http://www.victorianguildofchinapainters.org.au/event/japanese-painting-techniques-design-workshop/
Why is this? I’m using themify Simfo.
Thanks
Julia

ParticipantHowdy vent2me,
That is a new issue! I have not seen this before. I really like your theme.
I can not say for sure why this is happening. But, I think there might be an easy solution. First of all, do you have theme overrides per chance? Try disabling them by renaming your [themename]/tribe-events/ folder to ‘tribe-events-bak’.
If you lack theme overrides it is also possible that a different page template will work better. If you go to WP Admin > Events > Settings > Display, select one of the other options in the Templates drop down. Try each of them out, does one work?
So far I have not seen anyone else using the same theme. If none of the above works, we are going to be left to stabbing in the dark at a solution. Please let me know the results. Cheers!

ParticipantHi,
I tried all the above including overriding the theme files, changing the theme setting through wordpress. I even thought maybe changing the link name would work – it hasn’t: http://www.victorianguildofchinapainters.org.au/vgcp-events/
I love event manager pro so much, so I don’t understand why this issue is happening. Am I able to PM someone and have them check it out? Happy to provide login details and pay if I need too. Just need this sorted.
Thanks
Julia

ParticipantThanks Julia for testing that out. It is interesting, when I was looking at your site before it was just returning a blank page. Not it is showing a 404 one. Which gives us a good starting point. This tutorial, while rather long winded, is filled with from great advice for just this scenario: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/troubleshooting-404-errors/
95% of people just need to flush (refresh) their permalinks as outlined in there under the “What if it is only event pages that 404?” heading. But, if that does not work, it is worth giving the next steps a go. Considering you have already tried switching themes and know that “solves” the problem, you can skip any steps that ask you to switch themes. It would be worth disabling plugins though if you make it that far, just to double check that it is not your theme + a plugin.
Please let me know the results! For now, this is the logical next step. No need to pay anyone or anything.

ParticipantHi Brook,
Apologies for the delay in response – I’ve been sick. I’ve tried all of the above and doesn’t work. I don’t understand what’s going on.

ParticipantI managed to fix it. Turns out the silly client of mine when they took over the site changed the settings in general so the wordpress install was in a different location (and not the right one!)
Thank you so much for your help,
Jules

ParticipantYou are welcome Julia. I am glad that you were able to figure it out. No worries about the delayed response, especially if it means you are no longer sick!
I shall mark this resolved. Thanks for posting!
