Event Calendar Not Working — Major Issue

Updated The Events Calendar Pro, but when I go my events page there are two different things that happen:

1. Going to the root of the events page for the calendar doesn’t work for some reason. That is, going to /events/ doesn’t make the calendar appear, but if I go to a Category page for the calendar, it appears. /events/category/main/month/
For now, I have redirected my site users to this address and have tagged everything with the main event category.

2. I am using the “Default Page Template” and when I click on an event in the calendar, it links me to a page just with today’s events (which also don’t appear). If I use the “Default Events Template,” then when I click on an event in the calendar, it will link properly to the event details page.

1. That’s very strange. What are your permalink settings? Try changing/refreshing to see if that changes anything.

2. That’s also very strange. Do you have any old overrides in place that you are using for customizations?

Permalink settings are “Post Name.”

2. I don’t believe I have any overrides that I was using for customizations, and I reuploaded all the files for The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar Pro.

This sounds like the same problem I am having. But my event page is named calendar. Will be happy to create a second thread if it would help. FYI – I have followed earlier advice and reset my permalinks. They are not at Post Name. No luck.

I’m using Pagelines Pro theme. Changing to Twenty Eleven theme does seem to provide results when going to Event page aka calendar. Hoping to find out more details so I can let the Pagelines guys know & so I can try a fix.

Ok… I changed the Events template to Default Events template and it worked with Pagelines.

It never fails. Soon as you leave a comment on a forum after banging your head for hours… then it works. 🙂

Hi Brian,

Thanks for posting that. Yes with some theme’s the other page templates will not work and you need to use the Default Events Template. This is why we have this option, as a default to work with most any theme and also as a fallback where other theme templates will not work.
