Event Author is changing

    Often when we edit events for our customers the author of the event is changing from them to us.
    This is a large problem as there is no way to change it back and we have recreate the event on their behalf.

    Hi, Bradley. Sorry you’re experiencing this.

    I haven’t heard of this happening for other users. Do you possibly have some custom code in place somewhere that might be doing this, even if it’s targeting all posts and not specifically the Events custom post type’s posts?

    Also, it might be helpful for you to know that — in the event this does happen — you can set the author in the wp-admin edit screen by scrolling to the top, clicking Screen Options, and checking the “Author” box.

    You can even enable the Author metabox for Organizers and Venues by implementing this snippet:
