Event Archive Excerpts

Hey Guys,

We are hoping to find a way to stop the Event Archive Page from stripping the links in our excerpts.

When attempting to research the topic this was the most recent information I could find: https://theeventscalendar.com/the-trouble-with-excerpts/

Has there been any updates to the way those are handled / an easier way for us to carry those hyperlinks through to the excerpts?

Thanks for that link!

I’m not sure if it can be used for exactly what we’re looking for so I grabbed an example from https://wpshindig.com/events/

The excerpt in the attached image has a hyperlink in the actual paragraph text, but in the excerpt that hyperlink was removed.

Is there a way we can use that filter to just make sure that hyperlink applies in the excerpt, without changing the order of the content or pulling in a duplicate link?

If I’m understanding you correctly, you like the link text in the excerpt, but you also want it clickable… if so, you could try adding a filter and run the excerpt string through make_clickable()

Another idea is to manually craft each event’s excerpt from the wp-admin event edit screen.

Please let me know what you find out after testing things out.
