Event and Calendar slugs not working (404)

I have been using ai1ec for a the last few months but decided to make the switch to a paid calendar today. Some of the plugins are going to be huge time savers (especially the facebook plugin). The problem I am having is the links for events and the calendar itself are not working. I did try going back to the 2012 theme and disabled all plugins but the event calendar and the problem still persists. I wonder if something did not get removed from the database when ai1ec was uninstalled. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
