I am running the latest version of The Event Calendar Pro with a subscription for the Event Aggregator for a client. I have been able to import exactly one Facebook event from a public group. Even though that group had many events going out for months, and the group and events are public.

    We get the following error:
There was an error fetching the results from your import: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 5000 milliseconds

The website is open to view, no password protection.

This is the group we are trying to import from:
    https://www.facebook.com/groups/258577490987879/

I have tried other groups and pages that had events and also was met with the same error. Prior to recent update, we just got an error that said, “No events were found.”

    Hello,

Sorry to see you’re having issues importing events from Facebook. I compared what you’ve shared with me to our logged bug reports and believe I’ve located a bug relative to your situation. A workaround is to grab the link for each individual event you want imported and enter that into the Events > Imports > New Import > URL field as you’ve been doing thus far. I visited the FB page you shared with me and clicked through to this event, then attempted to import it and everything went well. See screenshots below:

I’ll include this forum thread to the bug report which helps increase attention on the matter. I don’t have a precise date when a fix will be available, but I’ll mark this thread as ‘Pending Fix’. Please stay tuned to our Release Notes and the plugin changelogs for more information. Thanks again and let me know if you’ve got any additional questions or comments. Cheers!

    Hi Hunter,
Thank you very much for the follow up and feedback. It’s good to know there is a temporary workaround, although not ideal for large lists of events.

I do hope there is a fix on the near horizon. I’ll keep an eye out for the releases.

    Good Evening Hunter,
I just wanted to check in on the status of this fix. I’ve been following along with the release notes but haven’t seen this addressed. Have we made it any closer to the front of the line? 🙂

    Hi and welcome back 🙂

I checked the status of the bug report and it’s definitely making progress, but still has a few steps to go before a fix is released. The good news is, we’ve fully vetted the issue which is typically the most time-consuming aspect. Now, our developers are addressing the faulty code and once that’s finished, we test it a few times to ensure things work as desired and will pack it up nicely in an upcoming maintenance release.

Sorry again I can’t be more explicit in terms of release dates, but feel free to check in every so often for a status update. Have a great rest of your week!

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
