GuestHi, I’ve noticed a lot of events have videos instead of images. Does Event Aggregator import videos?

MemberHi Joakim,
Thanks for considering Event Aggregator 🙂
Import of videos is not something that’s directly supported, however if for example an event description included a link to a video, then that would also be pulled in during import along with the rest of the description.
What sort of event sources are you working with, out of interest – Facebook, Meetup, something else?
Thanks!

GuestI’m curious about a similar question. I’m working on a quote for a site that will need to import feeds of events. It may be only facebook events from one page, or it may be events from another The Events Calendar site with a tag filter, but we are unsure right now. My question is around whether or not Event Aggregator pulls in images from feeds, specifically Facebook and other The Events Calendar sites. What about other types of feeds? I’ve searched thoroughly but can’t find a definitive answer.

MemberHi there Casey,
Event Aggregator can indeed import images from both Facebook and other The Events Calendar sites. So long as the source events have featured images, it should just happen with no extra work.
What about other types of feeds? I’ve searched thoroughly but can’t find a definitive answer.
Presently, we don’t automatically import featured images for iCal feeds (this includes Google Calendar). However, this is something that may change in the future.
I hope that helps!

GuestThanks Barry,
to answer your question, we need this for a venue/host site that co-hosts a lot of events (they’re providing the locales). They offer a full program on their website, and the events are mainly fetched from various Facebook pages, some which uses video as header. If Event Aggregator doesn’t support videos, we’ll have to find another way, like using a replacement image or similar.

MemberI’m afraid there is no direct support for videos at this time, so if that’s pivotal it may be best to look at other options, I’m afraid.
