I’m using the Enfold them by Kriesi with The Events Calendar Pro. in the Settings > Display menu, under Basic Template Settings, I see Enable event views, Default view, and Enable the month view cache. The options for Hide location search, Hide related events, and Hide weekends on Week View are at the bottom of the Display menu, under Advanced Template Settings.

I do not see the options for Default stylesheet used for events templates, Events template, or Disable the Event Search Bar.

When I deactivate other plugins, I notice no change. When I switch to the Twenty Fourteen theme, the missing options reappear, and the various Hiding options move to the Basic Template Settings area.

Can you offer me any advice?

    Thanks!

OK, I looked around in the Kriesi Enfold forum, and it appears that the Enfold theme is set up to adapt The Events Calendar by overriding some of its features. To quote:

Enfold modifies the Event Calendar plugin in order to integrate it with the theme, part of this is removing the (3) styles options included with the plugin to use the theme ones instead. If you don’t like this you can simply remove this line in functions.php and use the plugin standalone:

    require_once( ‘config-events-calendar/config.php’ ); //compatibility with the Events Calendar

    See: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/default-template-settings-missing-from-event-calendar-pro/

I tried blocking the above line, but the result looks awful. With that code, it merely looks odd, unprofessional. I guess it’s time to engage the folks at Kriesi, unless someone here has some suggestions.

    Thanks!

Good evening Lance and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the missing options while using the Enfold theme.
I would love to help you with this topic.

You are 100% right, this theme includes template customizations for their own purpose.
As you can imagine, we are limited to getting people started on the right track when it comes to customizations.

With that in mind (and after a backup), here’s a couple of things I would suggest:

    1. Please read our Themer’s guide. This will give you a general sense of how they did the customization and what files/lines to remove from there. Mostly the /tribe-events folder and any reference to the Events Calendar in functions.php
    2. If I understand this correctly, I believe the Events Calendar plugin is packaged with the theme. If that is correct, I would recommend removing it from there and reinstalling it standalone separately as a new plugin. In other words, the best way to gain control of the plugin back is to remove all traces of it from your theme.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
