ParticipantWe just recognized, that it is possible to buy tickets for events that already have passed.
We never filled in the ticket end date field, because the definition is that ticket sale will end when the event starts.
Now a customer was able to purchase a ticket for an event nearly a year ago. What is wrong? We use Event Ticket Plus and WooCommerce.

KeymasterHallo Stefan, Grüss Dich,
I’m sorry to hear about this issue.
Indeed, if the end date of sales is not filled out, the tickets shouldn’t show up any more for a past event.
Can you share with me:
- a url to the event where this is happening
- a screenshot of the ticket settings, including the start/end dates for sale
Does this also happen if you set up a new event in the past and you leave the sale end date field empty?
Thanks,
Andras

ParticipantHi Andreas,
I am sorry but I can’t give you an example now, because we added start and end dates to all tickets yesterday. We did that when we recognized that a customer purchased a ticket for an event that took place in Jan 2017.
Now it is not possible to remove the content of the date fields in a ticket anymore. I just tryed but the dates still are there even if I save not only the ticket but also the event itself. What can we do about this?
At the moment we fill in the dates for every new ticket to avoid any problems.
best regards

KeymasterHi Stefan,
Thanks for reporting back!
Meanwhile I also did some digging and we have a bugticket already on file for a very similar issue, so our developers are going to take a look at it. I will add your thread to the ticket and you will be notified once the bug is fixed.
My hunch is this comes from a plugin update and it affects tickets that were created before Event Tickets Plus 4.6.
To the best of my knowledge now if you create a ticket, then the start and end sale dates are automatically filled out even if you leave them empty. The starting time will be the time the ticket is created (rounded forward to the next half hour) and the end time will be the time of the event.
I am going to set the status of this ticket to “pending fix” and we will update it once the fix is released.
If you have any further questions regarding this topic, let me know, we can continue the discussion here.
If you have any new questions or other issues please create a new ticket so we can keep things clean.
Thanks and cheers,

ParticipantHi Andras,
thank you for this information. It is true that we created the events and tickets with an earlier version than 4.6.
So we will wait for the update. But for now we already filled in all dates in all past events – just to be safe.thank you for your endeavour.
best regards
