I haven’t seen this particular question answered anywhere yet.

We have a client who has several different companies selling similar products to different markets. They wanted their websites to be completely separate, but the same marketing team works on all the websites. So, we them up as a WordPress Multisite.

We installed the regular Events Calendar and activated it for 2 of their 6 “sites”. Now, we need to use the PRO features on one of those two sites. We just renewed our 3-site license. (We had used TEC PRO on another unrelated site before.) But we can’t find a place to put the license key in for just one site.

Based on what we’ve read, we could network-activate it and put the license key in in the Network admin, but we will never use it for those other 4 sites, and we also want to be fair with the license.

Is there a way to put the license string in just one “site” in a Multisite install?

(Unlike many of the Multisite questions I’ve seen on the forums, we will NEVER want to post events from any of the subsites on the a “main” site. Every site is silo-ed off from the others.)

I definitely appreciate you wanting to be fair with the license. Ultimately, in this situation, we’re trusting customers to do the right thing – but no, at this time there is no way to enter the license key for individual sites on the network (with the exception of the primary blog).

In operational terms this means you can’t benefit from automated updates – so there is certainly a trade off, there – but generally speaking we’ve found most users in this situation are happy to conduct manual updates and exercise that higher level of control, particularly given an update will affect all sites on the network using the plugin.

Does that answer your question/clarify things?

Hi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
