ParticipantThe email obfuscation functionality doesn’t work as expected since an anchor link is never generated. The email address is displayed in plain text and is not linkable.
This thread suggests a fix which does not work since the obfuscation functionality was seemingly “fixed” a while ago. https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/email-obfuscation-in-single-event-view-with-email-address-encoder/

MemberHi, Leonard. Thanks for your detailed question.
Could you please tell me where exactly you’re referring to — a link(s) might help?
Thanks.

ParticipantHere’s an example link with email echoing only the value and not an anchor: https://www.discoverjacksonnc.com/event/sylva-christmas-parade/

MemberGotcha.
If you look at that link’s page source, you’ll see it is obfuscated:
- Page source: https://cl.ly/2A2I1C3Z0y3h
- vs Browser Display / Inspector: https://cl.ly/3r2D1a2T0W0n
It’s just that the browser knows how to read and display the obfuscation in a human-readable way.
Regarding the email address not being linked, please reference https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/6095045-make-the-organizer-s-email-address-a-clickable-mai

ParticipantThe suggested link resolved the email link issue.
However, the Organizer’s website address is missing the title tag. Adding a new anchor link and creating a title doesn’t fix it. How do we add an anchor link to get the contact information compliant?

ParticipantSorry, I should have been more descriptive.
Yes, being able to provide different text inside the anchor would be good. But I also meant roles, aria, title, etc. Anything to help ADA/508 compliance.

MemberLee, I’m not sure if you already fixed the issue yourself or if it always was how it is now, but I had an accessibility developer take a look and the report back was that what you have at this time is good to go for WCAG (passing both aXe and WAVE testing).
Here’s a screenshot they took:
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.
