GuestHI,
I’ve been trying to edit the calendar at http://www.psychicawakeningsseattle.com/psychicawakeningsseattle/calendar/ and have had incredible difficulty.
I either want to change the title from “Events for September 2015” to something else, or just leave it as the month/year. Of course, I’d want to change this for all views.
Through the links below, I’ve followed the directions offered by your staff, but to no avail.
- Change Page Title for all calendar views
- Altering or removing titles on calendar views & Customizing Template Files
Here are pictures of the file (with path) and the code I used.

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. I appreciate your efforts to keep your plugin lite on code, but simple modifications like this seem like they shouldn’t be such a problem.
I’m trying the plugin out for the client listed above, but I’m also very tempted to use it to schedule and list classes for my own CPR business. …except stuff like this worries me. Will it be more of a headache than it’s worth?

ParticipantHey Josh,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Unfortunately we’re unable to provide support here in our Pre-Sales Forum but I would like to help you get pointed in the right direction.
For this in particular, this tutorial should include everything that you need to accomplish the changing of the titles. Remember, these snippets should be added to your theme’s functions.php file and you don’t need to worry about following the Themer’s Guide or adding a “tribe-events” folder to your theme for this particular change.
I do apologize for any frustration you may have in customizing. However, almost anything you can imagine within the plugin can be customized via the use of hooks and filters rather than just templating options. This is the most common and preferred method for customizations for WordPress plugins.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

GuestJosh,
Thank you. I think I may have read too much into it. I added the PHP and fixed that right up.
As somebody who knows nothing about hooks and filters, do you expect I’d have a hard time making edits and modifications to the plugin if I use it for my businesses calendar and registration needs?

ParticipantHey Josh,
No problem! Happy to help.
That’s a tough one to say. It all depends on the customizations that you’re wanting to make and how far the functionality you need deviates from the way the plugin’s (in this case I’m guessing PRO & one of our Ticketing add-ons for Registrtaion) built-in functionality.
Generally speaking, if it’s a display related customization I’d imagine you would be ok in accomplishing the customizations with a little guidance here in the forums and by using our Themer’s Guide.
If you need to change the way the plugin behaves, you may have a bit harder time. We can give you some direction here in the forums, however we are a bit limited in the amount of customization support that we are able to offer.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
