    Hi,

This is for events calendar pro Version 4.4.19. In one of our categories (and in only one of our categories), if we edit any of the listed events, the edit page in Google Chrome would eventual show the Kill Page or Wait error. Googling the issue, I found that it may be related to the number of “Clean up recurring events after” settings, so I change the default from 12 to 6.

This resulted in the Kill Page error not show, but the edit page still remains unresponsive. That said, if I wait 15 to 20 minutes, eventually the page will become editable. The strange thing is that this only occur on one of the catagories. All of the other events (posts) are editable (responsive load time) as one would expect.

We have been using the pro version for over 4 years and never ran into this problem. Only after recent updates to the plugin.

    Help?

    Thank you. Murray Owen

    Hey Murray,

Thank you for reaching out to us! I’m sorry to hear that you are having performance issues while trying to edit recurring events!

I believe you are being affected by a known bug: If a recurring event has multiple exclusions (15+) the edit event page freezes, or takes ~20s to load.

I would recommend you to access these recurring events and check the number of exclusions you have to confirm if that’s the cause of the issue in your specific case.

If the high number of event exclusions is the culprit, I’ll link this thread to our internal report and you will be notified as soon as a fix is available. If you that’s not the cause of the issue in your case, please let me know and I’ll be happy to help you with the next steps.

If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

    Thanks,

    Patricia

    Hi Murray,

    Thanks for your confirmation!

I’m linking this thread to our internal bug report right now: as I can see from here a fix is expected to be released soon, during our next maintenance release.

This way you can have the number of exclusions (i.e.+15) you want without ruining performance.

You will be contacted as soon as a solution is available!

Thanks for your understanding and if you have any other questions, please let me know and I’ll be happy to assist!

    Best Regards,

    Patricia

    Hi there,

Just wanted to share with you that a new maintenance release is out, including a fix for this issue. We are aware there’s more room for improvement around this area, but hopefully these initial improvements will alleviate the situation for now.

Find out more about this release → https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-for-the-week-of-12-feburary-2018/

Update the plugins and let us know if the fix works for your site,
    Cheers,

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
