EDD Tickets pre-sales questions

Hi,

We’re interested in The Event Calendar with EDD integration (i.e. EDD Tickets) and have some questions. I first asked these to EDD, but they said to ask here instead.

1) Does EDD Tickets include the Event Calendar and the EDD integration, or just the EDD integration (i.e. would I have to purchase both products)? Also, only the Event Calendar Pro version is compatible with our theme (Headway), so hopefully EDD Tickets works with that?

2) Recurring events is important to us, since we would actually use this for regularly occurring tours & activities. Unfortunately, it says that recurring events is not supported. Any plans to include this soon?

3) Would it be compatible with all the EDD payment gateway add-ons (e.g., Balanced, Stripe)?

4) For every event, would we have to designate a specific time the sale ends, or could we do a general rule like 24 hours before event time?

Thanks for contacting us!

1. The Events Calendar is a free and robust calendar solution, available on the WordPress.org repo. You don’t need PRO to run our EDD integration.

Headway has been a known problem for us though, I’m not sure I can promise it will work out of the box. I would try just running The Events Calendar first. If you can get that to work, I believe PRO and EDD Tickets would work, but your mileage may vary.

2. We have future plans for recurring events, but nothing to announce for now. I would not plan on this feature when building your site, we cannot promise its delivery.

3. As far as I know, it should be compatible with all EDD gateways.

4. I believe it is a meta option for every Event post type, so it will have to be saved each time. I think you could apply a ‘save_post’ action to add that meta if you wanted to though. We wouldn’t be able to support that customization though.

Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.

FYI, this won’t work for us, primarily because of the lack of a recurring events feature, so we will have to look elsewhere.
