ecp-single-template.php – get category name of current event?

Hi,

I’m trying to use get category name of the current event outside the loop. Had no success with standard wordpress way of doing it, so I was wondering if there was something built in your plugin to handle this…

I tried this from documantation but it doesn’t work: it outputs nothing.

this one works but it echoes link directly, and I need just a value to use it inside php not output it to browser: tribe_meta_event_cats1();

Any thoughts?
