ParticipantHi,
We are using ECP and the Commmunity Events plugin to allow users to create their own events. Since we launched it, it is starting to grow and we want to add the search widget, however I find that is does not work as expected. You can try a search here on our staging server:
http://staging.xlr8r.com/events1)
When you click on Date from Events From, i would expect a js Date picker to pop up but nothing comes up. I have inspected the Sources and no JS libraries are being called twice (as noted in some other posts).2)
Location Search seem useless or just not working properly, which is the most needed feature since all of our events are global. When I search for Santa Monica, CA I would expect to see only one event, but all are returned. If you try Montreal, same thing happens no results, even though the first event is in Montreal???3)
When clicking in the Location Search, I was expecting there to be an autocomplete from Google Maps api but again, I do not see this in action.I assume there is some js issue going on, but I can’t see any discrepancies. Also I have tried the twenty-fourteen downgrade but I have yet to see a datepicker or autocomplete in the location search.

ParticipantHey Ameet,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
It definitely sounds like there is a conflict at play here. Looking at your site, the controls definitely aren’t functioning (the datepicker, and autofill location) as intended. Additionally when submitting with a location value, the necessary geo data isn’t being passed to the URL to get the appropriate filtering of events.
Looking at the developer tools on your site, it appears that there is a conflict with your theme on a stylesheet however this shouldn’t be what’s causing these issues. However, this does lead me to believe that there are other customizations within the theme that could be the culprit here.
To start, have you followed the Testing for Conflicts procedures to see if this is an issue with the current theme or an existing plugin?
Thanks!

ParticipantI think I did find it, one of our customizations basically halted the loading of tribe-events-bar.js and thus it was not loading.
You mentioned there was a “conflict with your theme on a stylesheet.” Could you point that out to me, I am not seeing it and would like to address it. thanks for your help.

ParticipantHey Ameet,
Awesome! I’m glad you were able to find the root of the problem here!
I’m not seeing the issue now, but if I recall correctly I believe the error was a call to a stylesheet within a “tribe-events” folder in your theme that no longer existed.
Let me know if you need anything else on this issue.
Thanks!
