ECP is creating much more event instances than in recurring event settings

I’m having the same issues that a few others on here are having. When I create a recurring event that should be once weekly (for example), it creates hundreds of events and doesn’t seem to stop. The only way to stop it is to change the recurring to None and update the event again. Then it deletes all of the recurring events.

I have tried this with custom recurring event settings and it does the same thing.

I have followed the protocol of changing the theme and deactivating plugins, but it still happens with the twenty sixteen theme and nothing but the Event Calendar plugins activated.

Hi @byteplate, so sorry for the trouble here with recurring events!

We published version 4.2.2.1 of Events Calendar PRO about a half hours ago and it includes a fix for these issues.

Please try updating to this version of Events Calendar PRO (while making sure that your version of The Events Calendar is up-to-date at version 4.2.2, as well).

This should prevent the problem from happening again. If you have many instances of recurring events that you want to delete, I’d recommend searching for a free “bulk deletion” plugin on WordPress.org. There are many options—choose one that looks right to you, and it should help with the process of deleting many events at a time.
