Guesti want to know the ease of exporting “the event calendar” calendar(s) to all of the various calendar options these days- apple calendar, icloud, google, outlook etc etc. i create calendars for my client’s homework and then need them to be able to export to whatever calendar they are currently using. i need it to be very easy for them to do so.
i also want to know if it’s possible to create multiple, different calendars per wordpress.org page.
i also want to know whether it’s possible for them to only export the calendar with certain tags on it.
thanks!

MemberHowdy Sara,
Interesting question! The Events Calendar automatically includes both an .ics file and an RSS feed that can be used to migrate content to other calendar, such as Google Calendar, iCalendar, etc.
This is part of the free plugin rather than premium feature. So, for example, you can find the .ics file for your events at:
[your-site/events/ical]
…and the RSS feed at:
[your-site]/events/feed
In addition, it’s possible to use the WordPress Exporter to download the XML data from your calendar and use that wherever XML is supported.
I will say that most calendar applications do indeed accept the .ics file format, so you will more than likely be covered. However, I’ll note that the way applications render that data can vary, so the same behavior in one application may not do exactly the same thing in another.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

GuestGeoff,
Thank you. I did have another question- with TEC, is it possible to create multiple calendars? Also, does TEC offer keyword search and tagging options?
Thanks!

MemberThe plugin itself does not create multiple calendars. However, you can categorize and tag events in such a way that you can filter the calendar by those and have a unique URL to link directly to those views — which is a lot like having multiple calendars. 🙂

GuestGeoff,
Thanks again for responding. Ok, so I can categorize and tag events to filter and be able to have a unique url to link directly to those views. Once I send a client the unique url with only the tagged and categorized filters I want per client, can client download JUST those tagged and categorized events to upload to whatever calendar they are currently using?
Thanks!

MemberHi Sara,
Yes, that is correct. 🙂
For example, here’s a link to a specific category on our demo site:
http://wpshindig.com/events/category/tech-events/On that screen, there is an Export button that will download only the events in that current view.
I hope this helps answer your question but please feel free to let me know if you have any others.
Cheers!
