ParticipantHello,
When using the legacy import, new events are/have been automatically posted to my social media accounts via a plugin. I am trying the EA again on one site (I have a multisite) and when the events are being imported it no longer sees them as new posts and therefore does not get auto posted to my social media accounts.
Anything I can check for?
Thanks

KeymasterHey Brandon,
Thanks for getting in touch.
Are you using the SNAP plugin for auto posting? It would be good to know the inner workings of that plugins to see what it is looking for to post new stuff on social media.
Once we know that I can check if anything can be done about it, so that it also works with Event Aggregator.
Let me know.

KeymasterHi again,
I checked what happens on our side.
Once an event is saved/update
tribe_events_update_metafires, and the usual WP hooks fire as they do for any post that is created/updated.Andras

ParticipantHi Andras,
Yes, I am using the SNAP plugin.
I will relay your question to the plugin developer and get back with you.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Andras,
I got a response from NextScripts (SNAP).
“Technically speaking our plugin is hooked to the event of changing post status from whatever to “Published” This event is triggered when you hit “Publish” button, when you post on your site from email, when you publish post from your iOS/Android Device, when external plugin correctly published new post, and when scheduled post becomes live”
I hope this help.
This site is currently importing events via EA http://www.fullofevents.com/newyork AND has SNAP setup with multiple social media accounts, none of which are auto posting as they used to with Legacy Import.
Thanks

KeymasterHello Brandon,
I’m sorry for the long break, I was out of office until today.
Thanks for getting back to me on that with the info from the developers.
I will need to pull someone in to check this, please hang in there. We’ll be in touch.
Thanks for your continued patience!

KeymasterHi Brandon,
When Event Aggregator does the import then we just call wp_insert_post() and pass a post status of ‘publish’ – if that’s what EA has been configured to do – so nothing unusual.
A possibility is that maybe SNAP doesn’t set up code that listens for post insertion or status changes early enough.
