ParticipantI am running an auto-import everyday at 4pm from this Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/pg/Chayz.Lounge/events/It will duplicate the venue and events every time. I use the Avada Theme and everything (all plugins, core, etc) is up to date.
Any ideas, suggestions? Thanks

KeymasterHello Mark,
Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!
I’m sorry about this duplication issue when importing from Facebook.
I will run some tests with the url you provided and will get back to you as soon as I have something. Please hang in there. Thanks!
Cheers,

KeymasterHi Mark,
Thanks for your patience!
I ran a scheduled import of the feed you provided for the last day and the events were always properly updated, not duplicated.
However the venues did duplicate (now I have 46 Chayz Lounge 🙂 ), so this looks like an issue. I will create an internal bugticket so our developers can take a look at it and develop a fix.
There has been an update of Event Aggregator on our side. If you delete the scheduled import and set it up again, then are you still getting the duplicate events?

ParticipantIt seems I am no longer getting duplicate events. Thank you for your help on this! Looking forward to hearing back when the duplicate venues are resolved. Thanks so much.

KeymasterHappy to hear that at least the events are in order.
I am going to set the status of this ticket to “pending fix” and we will update it once the fix is released for the duplicate venues.
If you have any new questions or issues please create a new ticket and we’ll be happy to help you out.
Thanks for your patience!

ParticipantJust checking in and following up. Any idea on when a fix might be released? Thanks for your help.

KeymasterHi Mark,
Thanks for pinging me.
We are just wrapping up the post-release tasks of the maintenance release, which we pushed out yesterday. Then we’ll start scoping the logged issues for the next MR and will start working on the selected ones.
Currently I don’t know how big the pool of issues is, but the priority level of this bug is higher than average, so it does have a good chance to make it into the next MR, which scheduled to come in 2-3 weeks at the moment.
By early next week I will be able to tell you if this fix will make it or not.
Hang in there.
Cheers,

KeymasterHi Mark,
I wanted to get back to you on this as promised.
Unfortunately it didn’t fit into the bucket of the next Maintenance Release. Once that is out I will flag it to the team to handle this with priority if possible.
Thanks for your patience!

ParticipantThis is very disappointing. I would be more understanding if this fix didn’t make it into the bucket list on a free plugin, but for a paid add-on, shouldn’t this obvious bug be higher up on the priority list? It makes your product and my site appear unprofessional. Please see attached screenshots. I sincerely hope your company works on correcting your product.

ParticipantAnd from the frontend… please push this fix along.

ParticipantPLEASE NOTE: When you delete the duplicate venues, it also gets deleted from the event it is attached to. So, now when I deleted the dozens of duplicated venues, all of those events live on the site no longer have the venue attached to it. No-one visiting the calendar knows where the event is taking place. This is a big bug guys.

KeymasterHello Mark,
I totally understand your disappointment and the frustration this is causing you, and I’m sorry this is not fixed yet.
Rest assured, we are doing our best to fix the issues reported to us as soon as possible. We have processes in place to make sure every issue is dealt with the appropriate priority.
The last MR went out yesterday, so we will start scoping for the next one. I already flagged the issue to the team so it gets attention.
If you have a test site with the same issue, or you can set up one with copying the current site, then you can try the following until the fix arrives. On the Events > Settings > General tab you can find a ‘Merge Duplicates’ button for Venues and Organizers. Click on that and see if that helps.
If you don’t have a test site or don’t want to do one, then you can still try this on your live site, but then I strongly recommend doing a full database backup before, so you can revert if something goes wrong. I wanted to test this on my local site, but there the data is already too much jumbled to test this properly. My results are a bit mixed but it looks like it would work in this case.
Hang in there! I’ll try to give you an update in a couple of days on the status of the fix.
Thanks for your patience!
Cheers,

MemberWe released an update for this issue. Can you update your plugins (preferrably on a staging site) and see if that resolves the issue.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
