Donations & Multiple Attendees Under 1 Ticket

Hi! Can you please tell me if The Events Calendar can handle two special features we need for our client’s events?

1 – They need to have a spot on the event registration form where people can donate money toward a wine wall fundraiser. We would like them to be able to type in the amount of money they wish to donate and have it calculated into the total amount they are paying for the event.

2 – They have different levels of sponsorships for each events. The different levels get a certain amount of attendees included in the one sponsorship fee. We need to have a way that when they select “Platinum Sponsorship” they are then given the ability to enter information for 8 attendees under that one ticket/price. The attendees need to be able to fill in their name, email, and meal choice (or questions similar to that). We need to verify they can do this with a different number of attendees “attached” to each type of sponsorship. So, if they are selecting a silver sponsorship they would only get 5 attendees.

We do also have Gravity forms, and I know that works well with The Events Calendar. We just need to verify that we can do both of these special requests either with The Events Calendar itself, or a combination of The Events Calendar and Gravity Forms.

Thanks for reaching out!

Unfortunately, while these features are all possible, they are unfortunately not things that could at all be done “out of the box” with The Events Calendar. You would have to use Gravity Forms add-ons, or eCommerce add-ons, or custom coding, or some combination of these things to realize these actual features as you’ve described them 🙁

I saw the issue of multiple attendees attached to one purchase on the forums multiple times. Several of the answers said that this feature was slotted for the 4.0 release. Did it make it into the release?

If not, when might this happen?

Hey Ben,

These features are not included in the latest 4.0 update – I’m sorry to bear that news. I also unfortunately do not have a specific release date for those features at this time. It will be early 2016 at the earliest.
