GuestHi there,
I’m curious about how this works – does Event Ticket create a separate WooCommerce product and link to that or does the event actually act as a product itself? Just wondering about how it would effect reports etc.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks!
Jonas

MemberGood evening Jonas and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.Yes, Event Tickets Plus does create a simple virtual product in WooCommerce with catalog visibility set to hidden by default.
Some of the tickets data (e.g.: additional attendee info) is not stored in WooCommerce however.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

GuestHi there Geoff,
Thanks for your response to my question.
Can you confirm if that means that there will be two event posts for each event; one in under the ‘Events’ tab and one under the ‘Products’ tab – or are the event posts only to be found in ‘Products’ tab? In other words, will events act as two separate posts/products that are synchronized or is all the data in one single product?
Hope that makes sense, if not let me know.
Thanks!

MemberGood afternoon Jonas,
Thank you for writing back.
Here is an overview of how an event containing an Event Tickets Plus ticket is structured:
- There is a post under the “Events” tab. This contains the event info, the ticket and additional attendee info (if any)
- There is a also a WooCommerce product under the “Products” tab. That product is not an event, but simply a ticket. It is linked to the Event post automatically.
Another way to look at this is that WooCommerce only handles the transactional part (cart, cost, order status, payment, stock, etc…). Just like it would any other product.
In other words, the mastermind is the event post itself.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

GuestThanks Geoff, that makes it clear to me – I was right in assuming that two entries will be generated; an event and a ticket, and that these two connect to each other and depends on each other.
Thanks!

MemberGood afternoon Jonas,
Awesome. I am glad that helped.
One last thing you should know is that it is also possible to use tickets:
- With a page or a post – in other words independently from an event
- As a WooCommerce product – In other words, you could display that product, just as you would any WooCommerce product. This does not impact the relationship that the ticket has with an event, a page or a post.
You are welcome back in our support forums any time 🙂
For now, I am going to close this thread.
Have a great weekend!
