ParticipantHi there,
I am getting started with Event Tickets Plus (and Calendar Pro). Do we HAVE to use an ecommerce plugin in order to Tickets Plus to work? I am already using Ecwid on this site, and I hate to have to install another plugin if I don’t have to. If I DO have to install Woo…do I have to install or buy any other add-ons with them…or is it just the free Woo installation that I need? Thank you!!

ParticipantI went ahead and installed WooCommerce. It seems to be working pretty well. BUT, are there usually any other plugins that need to be installed for Woo or is the base (free) Woo sufficient?
Thank you!

MemberGood evening Emma and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.Do we HAVE to use an ecommerce plugin in order to Tickets Plus to work?
The short answer is it depends on what you are looking to do.
If you simply want to add Event Tickets Plus’ features to RSVP tickets (additional attendee info for example), then the answer is no, you do not need an e-commerce plugin.
If you are looking for transactional use, then yes, you need to have an e-commerce plugin to installed.
WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, WP eCommerce, and Shopp are currently supported.
Unfortunately, Ecwid is not supported at this time.
If I DO have to install Woo…do I have to install or buy any other add-ons with them…or is it just the free Woo installation that I need?
Just the basic free version of Woo (like you installed) will be fine.
That being said, there are quite a few awesome free plugins that you could extend your WooCommerce with should you want to.
If you haven’t already, you might want to follow this guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-event-tickets/
Let me know how that goes.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
This is actually Stefani…Emma’s designer/developer. 🙂 She’ll forward me the responses.
Thank you for all this info. I have one more question for now.
Under Event Settings > Display > I have the Default View set to Photo. One of the main reasons we bought Events Calendar Pro was for the Photo display option, but it’s not displaying as such. I have attached a screenshot of the settings we selected. I use Thesis on all of my sites, and I know there may be a compatibility issue with WooCommerce (which I am working on)…but is there a known issue with Events Calendar Pro and Thesis by any chance? The site is in maintenance mode right now, but I can give you login info or take it out of maint. mode for a bit if needed.
Thank you!
