DO i need the upgrade and will it work with Tag Div composer?

Hello, I downloaded the free version Events Calendar and it worked well at first, but then the TagDiv composer in Newsmag (Envato theme) failed and so did a PTA sign up scheduler plug in. I deactivated the Events Calendar and they both worked again.

If I purchase the pro version, is there any discount for a total non-profit? Does the calendar still work even after the year is over (ie.. is it just support that goes away) and will the PRO fix the compatibility problems with Tag Div?
