ParticipantIs there a way for me to write the sentence “Our next event is on THIS DATE” such that “this date” automatically displays the date of the next event in the series? I use the event description as kind of a poster for this particular series, and it would be great not to have to manually change the date each time.
I’ve searched through the knowledgebase and forum, but I couldn’t find the answer. I’m not sure I have the keyword vocabulary to locate it on my own (if it’s out there). Any help would be much appreciated!

MemberHi omnisara–welcome to the forums!
Good question. That actually not something we offer right out of the box, but might be possible with some custom development. We do, however, have the option to show related events under Events > Settings > Display. This will show information for related events in the recurring series for an event.
Otherwise, I think that would be something you would have to link to manually within the event description.
Sorry I don’t have a concrete answer for you here, but does this at least help? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks, Geoff!
That definitely answers my question, even if it wasn’t the answer I was hoping for. 🙂 I’ll stick to manual for now, and tinker around when I get some free time to try and ninja something using the related events feature.
I do want to clarify what I was asking, though I’m sure it won’t change the answer. I’m not looking to link to the next instance at all, just call up the next occurrence date as a bit of text. This would be useful for many events that we host, but I’ll give you an example. For our book club, I’d like to be able to post the entire year’s readings in the recurring event description, link within my website and newsletter to the final event occurrence so it’s never a past event, and have a banner at the top of the event description saying “Our next meeting is on such-and-such-date.” That way all the events show up individually on the calendar, but there’s a single event I can consistently link to instead of the /all list.
It makes sense in my head, anyway. Thanks for your help and all that you guys do to make this a wonderful product!

MemberMy pleasure! Yep, we’re totally on the same page and the description of what you are looking for makes sense. 🙂
Thanks again for the kind words! I’ll go ahead and close this thread but do please feel free to start a new one if anything else comes up and we’d be happy to help.
Cheers!
