I am in over my head. I’m not a site builder, coder, themer, etc. I purchased a WP theme and paid to have it setup like the demo. I have learned enough to maintain the site over the past few years and have even been successful in adding some plugins and making so adjustments to the site arrangement and appearance.
I wanted to go a step further and use my site to do some email newsletter distribution. It looked as though using a few plugins together would do everything I wanted. “The Events Calendar” “Events Calendar Pro” “Event Calendar Newsletter” and “Newsletter” are the plugins I think will allow me to accomplish my goal. However, my limited knowledge has caused some snags right off.
At this time I am pleased with what I have been able to setup with “Events Calendar PRO” but I would like to have the “Photo View” output show on the frontpage of my site. I don’t need to change it just have it show up there. I created a page “What’s Going On” that does show on the frontpage, but currently It just has a link that takes you to the “Photo View”. I’d really like that View to be on the front page.

    Hi Daniel.

Unfortunately, you cannot (yet) put the calendar views wherever you want them (like via a shortcode), but you could setup your homepage to redirect to your Events page and also set your default view to be “Photo”.

    1)

We do the first part of that for our Demo Site: visiting http://wpshindig.com/ actually redirects you to http://wpshindig.com/events/

You could create a page, set it as your Front Page (wp-admin > Settings > Reading > “Front page displays” > “A static page”) and then use a plugin like Page Links To to setup the redirect by editing your home page.

    2)

You can set your default view to “Photo” at wp-admin > Events > Settings > Display tab.

Please let me know how things go for you.
