Displaying only one entry for recurring event in Events page

Hi There,
Is there a way to make is so that when I am adding/editing events, that I only see ONE post for the set of recurring events? I want to be able to keep track of how many I have and make sure there are no duplicates but it’s very difficult when all of the dates from the recurring events fill up the page…

Hi Amy,

Glad to help you here 🙂

To show only the first instance of a recurring event just go to WP-Admin > Events > Settings > General > Recurring event instances, check that option and Save Changes. After that the recurrence should work as you describe.

Hi Shelby,

That is only for the front end though, i meant for the backend–it’s very
difficult keeping track of all of the classes when there are so many of
them in the backend. (All of my events are recurring). Is there any way to
do this for the backend too?

Hey Amy,

Thanks for clarifying! Yes, you can clean up your back end events as you describe, and you have a couple of options to do so. 🙂

1. You can use Advanced Post Manager (APM) as we describe here to sort and filter your events.
2. You can hide recurrences in the admin as shown in this tutorial.
