ParticipantThe Short: Just trying to display upcoming events with a photo and title on my home page. http://181.224.136.12/~ittraini/
Using: woocommerce, woocommerce tickets, EC PRO, DIVI theme
I’ve tried using my theme’s shop shortcodes to display the featured events and it will only display products that were manually generated by hand. It will not display any products that were automatically created by the events ticketing plugin.
I’ve also tried to force view all prouducts by ID and by applying the woocommerce shortcode [products ids=”289, 301″] the only item that will display is the true manually created “product” item. Not the the event product.
I assume this must have something to do with the fact that the product itself redirects to the events calendar item (not the product page) and perhaps doesn’t really have the class of a “product”? I’m just guessing.
This person who is also using events ticketing managed to make them display just fine. http://www.vinology.com/
How can I achieve the same effect? I just want to display 4 upcoming events with a title and featured image on my home page. What files do I need to change? Is this a bug? Should it be showing? Thanks for any help.

MemberHi Heather,
I’m sorry to hear you have hit up against some difficulties.
Tickets are something of a special case and in the case of WooCommerce Tickets the “catalog visibility” of the ticket products is automatically set to hidden.
If you edit those products and change the catalog visibility, does that allow you to then follow one of the avenues you’ve outlined?

Participantwow! It was that easy. thanks so much. I thought I was going to have to customize some templates or something. Awesome!! Thank you so much 🙂
Is there a way to make the tickets permanently visible? some code for functions.php or something? A setting somewhere? It would be very cumbersome to have to always go in and change the visibility setting each event created.

Without being too general and setting all new products (not just tickets) so that their catalog visibility defaults to something other than hidden, I don’t think we currently have a particularly clean avenue for accomplishing this.
If that’s not a concern, though, just let me know and I’d be happy to furnish you with a snippet. If it is a concern and you’re in need of something more, it’s probably worth proposing a new feature or supporting any suitable existing feature request you find here:
Thanks!
