ParticipantHey guys. I searched for this on here and didn’t see anything so if I overlooked it I apologize. Also, before I ask this, I know this may possibly require custom coding but I wanted to ask before I went and hired someone. (I’m a designer, not a developer. You guys who know code are my heroes.)
I’m building a new site for a church. They’re wanting to display some of the upcoming events on the home page. Essentially they’d like the next three featured events displayed in columns next to each other. We’re using Divi for the site if that makes any difference.
If this has been talked about before and I missed it, please link me to the thread discussing it so I don’t waste your time.
I appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks so much!

MemberHi Jonathan. Thanks for your inquiry.
I’m sorry I’m not following exactly what you’re trying to accomplish, but we don’t natively support our calendar views (e.g. Month, List, etc.) being displayed on the site’s home page.
If that’s ok and you want to proceed with your customization, could you please provide exactly what you’re wanting (screenshots or links to reference sites always help) so I can advise further.
Thank you.

ParticipantHey Cliff. Here’s a site example we really like:
They’re using a different theme, but if you scroll down a little, you’ll see where they have three featured events displayed. I know they’re using Events Calendar Pro, but not sure how they did it.
Thanks again!

MemberThey are using the Bridge theme by Qode Themes, Visual Composer, and Portfolio slider.
I don’t know how they got the featured events. It could be just an Event Category they put events in and then that slider displays just those events.

ParticipantGotcha. So, before I mark this closed, let me make sure I fully understand what you just said:
To achieve the look they used, they did a workaround using a Portfolio slider that, while it looks great on the front end, probably doesn’t actually pull from Events Calendar Pro on the backend? They’re loading things in ECP but then creating a portfolio item as well?

MemberThat’s my best guess, but I don’t know if that is a native Visual Composer component (VC might get bundled with that theme). If it is, I don’t know if it pulls custom post type categories. If it does, it should be easy to setup, but I can’t be sure.
Let me know if there’s anything else.
